The Communication and Digital Media program integrates hands-on training in media production, digital content creation, public relations, and emerging technologies with foundationsal communication theory. The curriculum is designed to develop strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills in an evolving digital landscape while fostering sensitivity to distinct audiences and ethical media practices in a global technological environment. 

The faculty challenge students in all areas of emphasis to think critically about media ecosystems and communicate effectively across multiple platforms and formats. Learning outcomes include specific objectives in digital storytelling, multimedia production, audience analysis, social media strategy, and working knowledge of the theoretical frameworks that shape contemporary communication. 

Advanced Placement Opportunity: 

Credit for prior learning or life experiences may be granted, at the discretion of program area faculty, upon review of a portfolio. 

Special Program: 

Membership in the National Communication Honor Society, Lambda Pi Eta (Kappa Lambda Rho chapter), is available to qualifying students with a major or minor in Communication and Digital Media. 

Program Requirements: 

  1. Completion of the Bonaventure Program and requirements for undergraduate degrees. 
  2. COM 394  is required to meet the Ethics requirement.
  3. Students needs a Cumulative Major GPA of 2.0 and no more than 2 major courses below a C to receive a degree. Major courses are all courses listed in section G of the degree checklist. 
  4. Successful completion of all components of the assessment program as outlined in the handbook for Communication and Digital Media majors.
