SOC 300 - Identity and Social Change 3 Credit(s)
This course examines social identity and diversity. Students will explore how race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, and other dimensions of identity shape their individual experiences and social interactions. The course analyzes stereotypes, discrimination, and systems inequality while considering historical and current issues within the United States. Students will develop greater self-awareness and cultural understanding. The course will use lectures, discussions, and critical reflections. Lecture and discussion based.
