ECO 222 - Principles of Macro-Economics

This course introduces students to the core concepts of macroeconomics, exploring how economies function at a national and global level. Topics include supply and demand, measuring national income and savings, economic growth, and the role of investment and the financial system. Students will also study key issues like unemployment, inflation, the monetary system, and fiscal policy, as well as the impact of global trade and monetary policy on the economy. The course emphasizes the real-world applications of macroeconomic theory to understand aggregate demand, supply, and the trade-offs between inflation and unemployment. Through practical examples, students will gain the tools to analyze and evaluate economic policies and their effects on society.
Prerequisite(s): At least sophomore standing.
