NSG 409 - Comm/Population Health Nursing

The course applies the Whole Person Care Framework to the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations. Emphasis is placed on principles and concepts of public health nursing, community health nursing, epidemiology, and emergency and disaster preparedness. Through group work, collaboration activities, and clinical experiences students will expand their professional nursing identity by practicing the attitudes, behaviors, and skills needed to address implicit and explicit bias, social determinants of health, and to demonstrate empathy in the care of vulnerable populations.
