This course focuses on the leadership skills, strategic thinking, and management principles essential for cybersecurity professionals in organizational settings. Students examine the role of cybersecurity leaders in shaping security culture, building effective security teams, and aligning security initiatives with business goals. Topics include strategic planning for cybersecurity programs, incident response team management, stakeholder communication, budget and resource allocation, metrics and performance measurement, and ethical decision-making in security context. The course addresses contemporary challenges such as managing remote security teams, navigating organizational politics, and leading during security crises. Students develop competencies in project management, change management, and persuasive communication necessary to advocate for security investments and drive security awareness throughout an organization. Emphasis is placed on developing both technical acumen and interpersonal skills required for leadership positions in cybersecurity.
