TRS 280 - Religious Epistemology

This course will consist of two parts or halves. In the first half of the course, we will examine the nature of knowledge and rational belief. This is a branch of philosophy known as “epistemology”. We will spend approximately one-half of the course doing an overview of epistemology. In the second half of the course, we will apply our epistemological knowledge to questions about religious belief, such as: Is religious belief rational? Is it justified? Can religious belief rise to the level of knowledge? Are there good objections to religious belief? This area of philosophy is known as “religious epistemology”.
