An introduction to essential mathematical concepts used in everyday decision-making, business, and the social sciences.  This course covers 5 major areas: basic probability theory, introductory statistics, fundamental concepts in financial mathematics, introduction to graph theory, and basic conversions.  Topics include probability rules, counting techniques, expected value, descriptive statistics, data visualization, inference basics, simple and compound interest, amortization, financial planning, graph representations, paths, circuits, and applications in networks and optimization.
