Requirements for a Minor:

The music minor consists of 18 hours plus ensemble participation for a total of 22 hours.

Required Foundation Courses:

MUS 113 - Music Theory I 3 Credit(s)
MUS 114 - Music Theory II 3 Credit(s)
MUS 115 - Aural Skills I 1 Credit(s)
MUS 116 - Aural Skills II 1 Credit(s)
MUS 117 - Music Appreciation 3 Credit(s)
and two credit hours of Applied Music.

Suggested Courses:

Following completion of foundation courses, student must choose one of the following areas of concentration: Music Theory, Music History, Music Performance, or Music Education. A total of six credit hours in one of these areas will complete the minor. Suggested courses for each area:

Additional Requirements:

Students are expected to perform in an ensemble for a minimum of four semesters. Students with an area of concentration in Music Performance must perform in one ensemble each semester for a total of eight semesters.
Each student pursuing a Minor in Music must have an advisor from the Music faculty.
Must also meet minimum University requirements for a minor.
