The B.S. in Public Health is designed to prepare students to work and serve in the field of public health. Students can become involved in public health education, analytics, administration, environmental health, or another similar area. This is a rapidly growing and vastly important area of the health industry. Students will obtain the foundation to earn a Master’s of Public Health or enter the work force.
Program Requirements for Public Health Major:
- Completion of the Bonaventure Program and requirements for undergraduate degrees.
- The technological literacy requirement will be fulfilled through the technological literacy requirements of Biology, Psychology, or Human Services.
- PHI 323 - EW: Bioethics fulfills the Bonaventure Ethics requirement.
- Students will have the opportunity to study a specific concentration of public health including Environmental Health, Biostatistics, Behavioral Science, Health Education, Epidemiology, or Health Service Administration. Other potential concentrations can be discussed with a student’s Academic Advisor.
- Students need a Cumulative Major GPA of 2.0 and no more than 2 major courses below a C to receive a degree. Major courses are all courses listed in section G of the degree checklist.

Capstone Courses:
Completion of the capstone course (PUH 497), and two 1-3 hour practicum/internship (PUH 280 and PUH 380).
