MEC 512 - Counseling Theory

This course provides an overview of current major theoretical approaches to counseling. Emphasis is on both theory and application. Methods of instruction include lecture, class discussion, readings, video, writing, case studies and roleplaying. Having evaluated the philosophical assumptions about the human person underlying each theory, each student will be able to choose and critically integrate major counseling perspectives into his or her own personal approach to counseling.
