CHE 302 - Organic Chemistry I 5 Credit(s)
A comprehensive coverage of the basic principles of organic chemistry. Topics include nomenclature, structure, stereochemistry, chemical reaction mechanisms, nucleophilic substitution and elimination, structure, synthesis, and reactions of alkanes, alkenes, alcohols, and alkyl halides. Also IR, mass spectrometry, and NMR. Four hours lecture and a 3-hour lab per week. Prerequisite(s): CHE 151 or CHE 125 .
